Email Warmup Meaning: What is it

Email warm-up is the process of building a positive reputation for a new or inactive email address before launching cold email campaigns. It involves using automation to send a small volume of emails each day, gradually increasing the volume over time.

Recommended warm-up period for an inactive/old email address is 14 days. For a new sender's address, the warm-up period should ideally last between 30 to 60 days.

How to do Email Warm Up

To perform an email warmup, you need two things:

✅ Email accounts, obviously

Sign in

First, sign in to a cold email tool

Add Email Accounts

Next, add the sender addresses from which you want to send cold emails. 

To do that, click on the “Sender” option from the main menu on the left hand side of the screen. 

It will lead to a page as below. Now, go to the “Add sender” option as pointed in the image.

You can add a sender’s address to Manyreach in following ways depending your email service provider: 

  • Google Workspace OAuth
  • Office 365 / Outlook OAuth

Enable Warmup

Once you’re done adding an email address or a CSV file, your sender addresses will appear in the “Senders” section as shown below.  

There’s a warm-up icon on the extreme right of each email address as pointed below.  

To enable warmup for the email account, click on the warmup icon. It will turn blue, indicating “warmup” activation.

Set the Warmup Settings

To access advanced warmup settings such as “Daily Warmup Sending Limit” and “Increase Daily Warmup Limit”, click on the email address. 

It will open the ‘settings’ page. Click on the “Warmup” option as pointed by the red arrow to set warmup settings. 

Next, adjust the following settings as per your requirements:  

  • Daily Warmup Sending Limit
  • Increase Daily Warmup Limit By (Recommended 10%)
  • Maximum Warmup Limit After Auto Increase
  • Reply Rate

For a new sender’s address, we recommend the following settings:

  • Daily Warmup Sending Limit” between 6 to 8 emails per day. 
  • Increase Daily Warmup Limit by 10%
  • Maximum Warmup Limit After Auto Increase should be 30 
  • 50% Reply Rate

And, you're done with warmup settings.
